光弹性法是应用光学原理研究弹性力学问题的一种实验应力分折方法。将具有双折射效应的透明塑料制成的结构模型置于偏振光场中，当给模型加上载荷时，即可看到模型上产生的干涉条纹图。测量此干涉条纹，通过计算，就能确定结构模型在受载情况下的应力状态。
