儿童法庭，作为一般法庭的对照，是用以区别审理少年犯罪者与成人犯罪者的特殊法庭。 在台湾，儿童是指12岁以下之人，无犯罪能力，故无儿童法庭之设立，而是将具有犯罪能力，12岁以上、18岁以下的少年犯罪人，置于少年法庭接受审判，在此意义下，儿童法庭与少年法庭所指涉者并无不同。
所有涉及儿童的案件均由儿童特别法庭审理。
