凡眼部无器质性病变、矫正视力低于0.9者称为弱视（amblyopia）。弱视是眼科临床常见的儿童眼病，是婴幼儿时期，由于各种原因如知觉、运动、传导及视中枢等原因未能接受适宜的视刺激，使视觉发育受到影响而发生的视觉功能减退的状态，主要表现为视力低下及双眼单视功能障碍。
