假节，假（通“借”）以符节，持节。是皇帝将节借给执行临时任务的臣子使用，用以威慑一方，当这个臣子临时任务完成后，这个节将会被收回。古代使臣出行，持节为符信，故称。《贞观之治》中的节仗在汉、魏、两晋、南北朝时，掌地方军政的官往往加使持节、持节或假节的称号。使持节得诛杀中级以下官吏;持节得杀无官职的人；假节得杀犯军令者。
