倾伏褶皱是指枢纽倾伏的褶皱。根据其倾伏角的大小又可分为缓倾伏褶皱（10°～30°）、中等倾伏褶皱（30°～60°）和陡倾伏褶皱（60°～80°）。倾伏褶皱的两翼走向不平行。
线性特征中的走向及倾伏(诸如褶皱的轴)，描述了此线的方位角及其偏离水平面的情况。层态亦称产状。
The trend and plunge of linear features, such as the axis of a fold, describe the azimuth of the line and its deviation from horizontal.
推测猴石顶重褶皱可能处于向北倾伏的主体构造的东侧。
