保值，是指外汇交易商通过即期外汇交易和远期外汇交易来避免或消除汇率变动风险的买卖外汇的行为。保值仅仅是为了消除或避免外汇风险，把由外汇风险所带来的损失降到最低限度，不是利用外汇风险赚取利润。
