由于压缩机结构、制造、装配、运转等方面的需要,气缸中某些部位留有一定的空间或间隙,将这部分空间或间隙称为余隙容积。余隙容积是压缩行程结束时,处于活塞顶部至气缸头之间的空间。余隙容积的存在对压缩过程不利,使压缩机的吸气量减小、气缸工作容积的利用率降低。 余隙容积又称“有害容积”、“有害空间”,简称“余隙”,为防止活塞端面与气缸盖发生撞击以及设置吸、排气阀的实际需要而形成。
在高压力作用下,余隙容积的存在会降低液力端的容积效率。
