雀形目(Passeriformes)伞鸟科(Cotingidae)3种鸟的统称，分布于美洲热带林中，有独特的伞状冠，又自喉垂下一个可膨胀的肉垂。新热带的伞鸟是鸟类中最多样化的群体之一。种类的体型差异为鸟科之冠，既有仅长8厘杉的迷你型姬伞乌，也有和鸦一般大小的伞鸟。既有食虫类，也有特化的食果类。在体羽方面，无有灰暗单调的，也有鲜艳夺目的。而在繁殖机制中，既有单配制，也有一雄多雌的“展姿场”几制。
