会计师法是为调整有关会计师权利能力和行为能力的法律规范。我国于1945年公布了第一部《会计师法》。后于1983年12月在台湾修正公布。它是维护会计师合法权益的重要法律，该法共6章51条。主要内容有： 总则、登录、业务及责任、公会、惩戒及附则 等。具体内容包括： (1)会计师资格的取得，采取考试和认可两种方式。经考试及格或经“考选部”认可，领有会计师证书者，始得为会计师。并规定判一年以上徒刑者，受禁治产宣告未撤销者，破产宣告未复权者，受撤职停业任用期间未满者等，不能充当会计师。(2)关于“登录”开业的规 定。规定会计师必须向省、市主管机关(财政部或省市财政厅(局) 申请登录，方得开 业。会计师可单独开业，也可联合开业，但都需设立会计事务所，执行业务。会计师可以雇用助理人员，但亦有严格的条件限制。
