井田开拓，由于煤矿开采的对象是赋存于地下的煤层，受地质条件和生产技术条件的限制和影响，一个矿井（一套生产系统）所能开采的煤层范围往往是有限的，难以开采整个煤田。因此，一般地将一个煤田划归若干个煤矿进行开采。划归一个煤矿开采的范围称为井田，在一个井田上进行开采的煤矿一般叫矿井。在一个井田范围内，主要巷道的总体布置及相关参数的确定叫井田开拓。
