张骞是中国古代著名的外交家和探险家。西汉初年，他奉汉武帝之命出使西域，联合被迫西迁的大月氏国抗击匈奴。经过长达十余年的千辛万苦，历尽周折终于到达大月氏国，发现了辽阔的西域。张骞将大汉文明带到了西域，同时也将西域的葡萄、胡桃、西瓜、洋葱、黄瓜和音乐、佛教带回了长安，开拓了一条闻名世界的，从长安至古罗马的丝绸之路，将自古隔绝的东方和西方连接起来。
