丛猴科Galagidae的分布限于非洲大陆，分布虽然比懒猴科略狭窄，但是适应的栖息环境更加多样化。丛猴又称婴猴，两个名字均来自英文Bushbaby，即丛林婴儿之意，因在夜间发出婴儿啼哭般的叫声而得名，丛猴还有一个另外一个名字，即丛猴均为杂食性，但有些种类以昆虫为主食，而有些则以果实为主食。

不过，现代灵长目分为两个主要的分支：狐猴和丛猴同属一个分支，猿猴和无尾猿则属于另外一个分支。
