专业技术职务是根据实际工作需要设置的有明确职责、任职条件和任期，需要具备专门的业务知识和技术水平才能担负的工作岗位。中国从1986年起实行专业技术职务聘任制度。设置的专业技术职务共29个系列，各系列一般分高、中、初三级，有些系列的高、初级又分为两档。
