三灾是佛学辞汇，一般世界都有三灾，所谓大三灾、小三灾。每个大劫，包含成、住、坏、空四中劫。每个中劫，包含二十个小劫。大三灾，发生於坏中劫之末。小三灾则发生於每个小劫人寿减少之时。小三灾是刀兵、瘟疫、饥馑。刀兵灾起七日，疾疫灾起七月七日，饥馑七年七月七日。大三灾是火灾、水灾、风灾。这是大星系的毁灭；不仅是地球，而是太阳系、银河系等，星系的毁灭。以六十四个大劫为一周期。
