三刺鱼（学名：Gasterosteus aculeatus）是刺鱼科、刺鱼属的一种鱼类。体细长，侧扁，尾柄细窄；头大，吻不突出；口中等大，端位；两颌有尖锐小齿；鳃盖膜连于峡部；鳃孔小；体侧骨板背腹轴长，连续排列至尾柄部；背鳍基部附近、鳃盖上方背部及胸腹面也散有小骨板；体侧骨板中央突起，尤其在尾柄部更为明显，形成脊状突；侧线完全；背鳍前具游离鳍棘3个；胸鳍大，侧中位；腹鳍有1鳍棘；尾鳍短，稍呈截形；背部浅青绿色，体侧银白，后腹部及背部散有不规则的浅色纵斑纹。 三刺鱼为河口性栖居种类，成鱼生活在海的沿岸及江的潮汐区；属于群居鱼类，但繁殖期除外。幼鱼主要以小型浮游动物为食；成鱼主要以水生昆虫及无脊椎动物为食，亦食落入水面的昆虫。分布范围包括欧亚大陆、冰岛、格陵兰岛、东亚（北纬35度）和北美洲（北纬30度）的沿海水域。 （概述图参考资料： ）
