abstract:William Lowe (born 1901, date of death unknown) was an Irish sprinter. He competed in the men's 100 metres and the 200 metres events at the 1924 Summer Olympics.
Other people honoured include Dad's Army star Arthur Lowe, who has a plaque in Hayfield, and William Barron of Borrowash - a 19th Century gardener who designed the gardens at Elvaston Castle.
