Charles Heyman, editor of ArmedForces of the UnitedKingdom, told the BBC this was a "loophole" in training and medical inspections and all that was needed was a simple pregnancy test to be carried out before deployment.
"The UN Security Council seat, our membership of the European Union, our leadership in Nato, our nuclear deterrent, our strong armedforces, they are all things that belong to the whole of the UnitedKingdom, " he said.
