The Amex building, a handsome, landmarked Art Deco pile at 86 TrinityPlace, is a remnant of a time when the exchange was a legitimate rival of the New York Stock Exchange, battling with it for listings of the biggest companies in the United States.
Now part of the White Sands Missile Range, Trinity remains a secretive place: It is open to the public just two days of the year, on the first Saturday of October and April.
