Even though a dress code should not discriminate under TitleVIIoftheCivilRightsActof1964, it is unfortunate that many enforceable dress codes include provisions that mainly adversely affect minorities.
It is the broad language ofthe law, and that ofTitleVIIofthe1964CivilRightsAct, which has dragged the court into coming up with rules of its own to interpret what Congress meant.
