His heart stopped when a large black shadow leapt out from behind the rock and landed in front of him. He blinked repeatedly not believing what he saw before him. A massive panther stood in his path. But panthers only lived in Ikhaya, and this one was larger than any he'd ever seen. His hand tightened on his Iklwa, but it was then that the whispers started. This time louder, more urgent, they clouded every sense. He could almost understand them, but every time he grasped at the words they just dissipated like water through his fingers.

I can't hear you. Say it again, but this time louder.

We did not think much more of it until that evening whilst we were watching television; we once more heard the noise. But this time it was significantly louder.
