When asked for comment regarding whether Mr. Castro was the unnamed assemblyman and whether he had plans to resign, an individual who answered the phone at Mr. Castro's district office said the assemblyman's chief of staff would issue a press release by the end of the day.
"I am very proud of my accomplishments and the many benefits that I have secured on behalf of my district over the last four years, " Mr. Castro said in a statement released by his attorney, Michael Farkas.
