The population was now approaching the one and a half thousand mark and at least one real estate agent was eager to see that doubled. Even with interest rates on the rise, building on the new estate at the corner of town was in full swing. A few houses were already being lived in, but most were yet to reach lockup stage – skeletal structures dotting a dusty, treeless landscape amidst a network of freshly carved streets.
