abstract:Stephen Koch (born September 6, 1968, San Diego, California) is an American adventurer, risk management expert, professional speaker, extreme snowboarder, mountaineer, guide, and pioneer in the field of snowboard mountaineering, a term he coined. He is best known as the first and only person to snowboard on all Seven Summits, the highest peak on each continent.
He collaborated with a team of pathogen hunters, including Fabian Leendertz of the Robert Koch Institute in Germany and Stephen Rich of the Laboratory of Medical Zoology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
