“You're Holden's friend right?” She flicked her short, dark hair out of her eyes to meet mine. I noticed she was wearing a dark, thick stripe of purple eyeliner. It suited her though, from what I could tell. I simply nodded in response to her question. “And you know where he disappeared off to?” she added conversationally. I stopped eating and the situation grew tenser, for me at least. She still appeared unfazed.
