abstract:In local government, a city hall, town hall, civic centre, (in the United Kingdom) a guildhall, or (more rarely) a municipal building, is the chief administrative building of a city town or other municipality. It usually houses the city or town council, its associated departments, and their employees.
Designated a county constituency and containing a great deal more territory than just the ancient city, this seat was drawn to be identical to the City of Durham localgovernment unit and its name distinguishes it from the six other seats in County Durham.
