“Yes, I am.” I began emptying the cart of my stuff. I stacked the blankets and clothes on the bed. The few boxes went in a corner temporarily. I wanted to talk to Rais, say something exciting, but nothing came to my mind. It was of course a pleasant surprise to discover a fellow Pakistani was to be my roommate.
