The record attendance attracted local leaders including Houston Mayor Annise Parker, former Mayor Pro Tem Gordon Quan, San Antonio City Council Member Elisa Chan, State Representative Gene Wu, and U.S. Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Green.
To help them, they've brought in another career physician and scientist, Andy Chan, who still practices as a rheumatologist at University of California in San Francisco.
