International diplomat Kofi Annan's six-point peace plan "failed from dayone and is now meaningless for the Syrian people, " Riyadh al-Shaqfa, leader of the opposition Syrian Muslim Brotherhood party, said in a speech at a party conference in Istanbul on Monday.
"Nowhere is the feeling of hope greater than among the people of Afghanistan, who during 23 years of tragedy and loss have maintained the hope that peace and stability could be restored oneday in their country, " he told the conference's closing session.
