Alkermes, which specializes in developing technologies that deliver drug chemicals to the body, figured out a way to turn the Risperdal pill into a shot, branded RisperdalConsta.
The success of several new drugs, including Invega Sustenna and RisperdalConsta, drugs that treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, contributed to a 7.5% increase in global pharmaceutical sales, the company said.
