Far less enchanting is a gallery that is chiefly devoted to paintings by the young Rembrandt including his dramatically shadowed, gustily proto-Romantic self-portrait, made at the age of twenty-two but is raddled with lesser art, ceramics, and furniture whose presence is justified by the fact that Rembrandt knew and liked their makers.
