abstract:Awn Qutb Shah Baghdadi (}}) also known as Shahanshah-e-Khorasan (King of the Kings of the Khorasan), was the ruler of Herat and Khorasan, and a general in the army of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi. Qutub Shah was the direct descendant of Al-Abbas ibn Ali, the commander at the Battle of Karbala and the son of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, who in turn was the cousin and son-in-law of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.
