TheLagerfeldbrand, which was bought byTommy Hilfigerfiveyears ago, was not part ofthe $3 billion acquisition announced this weekof the fashion group by the AmericangiantPhillips-Van Heusen.
The company recently signed two new licenses with Phillips-Van Heusen-owned Calvin Klein, and entered an agreement with a division of Jones Apparel Group.
Jones Apparel competes with brands like Liz Claiborne and Phillips-Van Heusen, as well as department store mainstays such as Polo Ralph Lauren and store-owned private labels.
