abstract:Patrick Ness (born October, 17 1971) is an American-born British author, journalist and lecturer who lives in London and holds dual citizenship. He is best known for his books for young adults, including the Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls.
Last year, Patrick Ness's novel A Monster Calls, illustrated by Jim Kay, won both the Carnegie and Kate Greenway Medals for the first time in the awards' history.
The opening event will see authors Philippa Gregory, Jasper Fforde, Jeanette Winterson, PatrickNess and Jackie Kay appearing at St George's Hall, which sits alongside the refurbished library.
