The 2008 Cancer Facts and Figures, published by the ACS, points to a recent national survey of office-based physicians that found, although 96% were accepting new patients, 40.3% did not accept "no charge" or charity patients, 25.5% did not accept Medicaid patients, and 13.9% did not accept patients covered by Medicare.
