Cashmore took bronze in the women's S9 100m backstroke behind Canada's Stephanie Dixon, who also broke the world record, and South Africa's NatalieduToit.
The Spanish 19-year-old is a hot contender to take the place of celebrated South African paralympic swimmer, NatalieduToit -- who will retire following London 2012.
