After the commercial success of "That Most Important Thing: Love, " Mr. Zulawski was able to return to Poland, where in 1976 he began shooting the hallucinatory sci-fi epic "On the Silver Globe" ("Na srebrnymglobie, " 1988), based on a trilogy of novels by his great-uncle, Jerzy Zulawski, and featuring landscapes shot in Mongolia and the Crimea and inspired cinematography and music by the director's frequent collaborators Jaroszewicz and Korzynski.
