Last month, Chad Mirkin 's Northwestern spinoff Nanosphere entered into a development contract with the U.S. Government Technical Support Working Group to use Nanosphere's proprietary biomolecular detection system (using gold nanoparticles) for detection of biological warfare agents like anthrax.
