abstract:Mike McMahon, hacker at the AI Lab during the 1970s, worked with Richard Stallman on Emacs ; he then wrote with Daniel Weinreb the first implementation of emacs for Lisp machines, a text editor named EINE (recursive acronym standing for "EINE Is Not Emacs"), which became later ZWEI (meaning, "ZWEI Was EINE, Initially"). He's also known for his work on the Symbolics Lisp machines in the 1980s.
