abstract:The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is the largest pre-college scientific research event in the world, and is owned and administered by the Society for Science & the Public a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. Each May, more than 1500 students from roughly 70 countries and territories arrive to compete in the fair for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prizes: one $75,000 and two $50,000 college scholarships.
When Hotz was fourteen, he beat thousands of students from more than sixty countries to reach the finals of the IntelInternationalScienceandEngineeringFair.
Khare traveled from her California home to Phoenix last week for the IntelInternationalScienceandEngineeringFair, where her invention was honored as one of two winners of Young Scientist Awards.
