Beth's eyes suddenly flew upon. For a few moments she had no idea where she was, but suddenly all of the memories from the past few days came flooding back to her, and she lay back in the bed. She wondered why or what had woken her up. As she lay in the dark, she heard a muted creak from the floor just outside of her door. She turned her head to look at the door, and could see that there was a slight yellow glow coming in from under the door. It was as if someone was out there, holding a shrouded lamp, so that no one else could see the light thrown by it. Beth wondered for a moment who was wandering the halls in the depths of the night and then turned to the window to look out of the window by her bed.
