The Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) grazes about 300 Belted Galloway cows on its conservation heathlands to clear coarse grass smothering insects and plants.
All in all by the end of the year the children will have spent nine days working at Minsmere, experiencing different aspects of the reserve from the reed beds and heathlands to the cafe and the shop.
