When the somber-looking Fuhrman took the stand, he was asked by defense attorney GeraldUelmen if the testimony he had given at the preliminary hearing in the case was completely truthful.
In arguing for the admissibility of the tapes, attorney GeraldUelmen said the defense was not trying to inflame the passions of the jury but simply trying to challenge Fuhrman's credibility and to help the jury assess the weight they should give to his testimony.
