abstract:Firby or Fritheby is an English toponym and family name, with its original location now registered in modern government as Firby, Hambleton. It is not to be confused with Firby, Westow, that has separate origins and etymology, along with Fearby, North Ferriby and South Ferriby, also different in these natures; each has had its own variants causing confusion.
