Bush's administration has pushed nuclear power as a fuel of choice for the future through various financial incentives, including the "Nuclear Power 2010" initiative launched five years ago, which provides matching funds for the early stages of new plant development, as well as loan guarantees and tax credits offered to new nuclear developers in 2005's Energy Policy Act, sometimes known as EPACT.
