Summary: External rotation of the disrupted hemipelvis is a common deformity after pelvic ring trauma, especially inanteroposterior compression injury patterns. This displacement isassociated with significant pelvic hemorrhage. Emergent closedreduction techniques are necessary to diminish the potential pelvicvolume, provide temporary stability, and allow tamponade with clotformation. Circumferential pelvic antishock sheeting is effective butmay be cumbersome, especially in patients with truncal obesity. Insuch scenarios, circumferential pelvic area sheeting does not alwaysachieve a complete reduction. We present a technique of internalrotation and taping of the lower extremities as an alternative orsupplemental pelvic closed reduction method.
