abstract:The United States Intelligence Community (IC) is a federation of 16 separate United States government agencies that work separately and together to conduct intelligence activities considered necessary for the conduct of foreign relations and national security of the United States. Member organizations of the IC include intelligence agencies, military intelligence, and civilian intelligence and analysis offices within federal executive departments.
At a minimum, the proposed sale of Hummer to China should be carefully reviewed by the interagency Committee on Foreign Investment in the UnitedStates, the intelligencecommunity, the State and Defense departments and the Congress.
As I said, we have an amazing track record here within the UnitedStates, the intelligencecommunity across the board, as far as identifying these plots early, disrupting them, thwarting them, and preventing those types of attacks -- in every instance.
