abstract:A Temporary Housing Area (臨時房屋區) or THA is an area designated for people living in temporary houses made by wood frames and zinc plates in Hong Kong. The houses are built by the Hong Kong Government.
However, nearly six months on many of the 80, 000 people who were evacuated from the area are living in temporaryhousing or shelters, with no indication of when or if they will be able to return home.
The problems stemmed from not registering the workers, inadequate temporary worker housing on site, improper sanitation, no break-room area for lunch and no restrooms.
