It has stressed that the aim of the soon-to-start direct negotiation is to reach a peaceful settlement that would end the Israeli occupation which began in 1967, allowing for the independent and sovereignstate of Palestine to emerge and live side by side in peace and security with the state of Israel.
Second, let us accept, whatever our differences over the war, it is in all our interests and in the interests of the peaceful majority in the Muslim world that Iraq be helped to be a sovereign, independent, stable, democratic state, where there is religious tolerance, human rights and equality for all.
