The study, published online March 18 in the journal The Lancet, was conducted in part by the eminent epidemiologist SirRichardPeto of the University of Oxford.
SirRichardPeto, the renowned British statistician who conducted an analysis showing "no credible evidence" that the cholesterol medicine Vytorin causes cancer, defended himself in a sharply worded letter to congressmen investigating the medicine.
But, at the same time, they presented an analysis by Oxford University's SirRichardPeto, who argued there is "no credible evidence" of a link between the active ingredient in Vytorin and Zetia and cancer.
