Tree trunks towered all around him, as far as he could see. Above him, a canopy of green foliage blanketed the world, obscuring the sky from view and blocking out nearly all light. Up there, neon-coloured birds soared from branch to branch, singing joyfully. Up there, monkeys swung on their boughs, using hands, feet and tails. Up there, flowers blossomed in a dazzling array of colours, while the trees reached out with finger-like branches towards the glorious sunlight.
